Who we are

BMT Media Group Ltd. is a media company registered in London, United Kingdom. We produce originals through BMT Studios, run the BMT Direct streaming service, and cover live moments through BMT Pulse. For everything you do on BMT.tv, BMT Media Group Ltd. is the data controller, meaning the organisation responsible for your personal data.

You can reach our privacy team at privacy@bmt.tv, or write to us at BMT Media Group Ltd., London, United Kingdom.

What data we collect

We try to collect as little as we can while still running a reliable streaming service. Here is the full picture.

Account data
Your name, email address and a securely hashed password, plus the household profiles you create and their settings.
Usage data
Pages you visit, titles you play, how far through you got, ratings and the filters you set. This is what makes Continue Watching and your recommendations work.
Technical data
IP address, device type, operating system, browser and app version, and playback diagnostics such as buffering events and stream quality.
Payment data
Subscription tier, billing country, renewal dates and receipts. Card payments are handled by our payment providers, such as Stripe. BMT never sees or stores your full card details.
Communications data
Messages you send us through support forms, accessibility reports, press and partnership enquiries, and any feedback you choose to share.

How we use your data

Every use below is tied to running BMT well. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles about you outside BMT.

  • To provide the service: signing you in, streaming titles, syncing progress across devices and keeping playback stable.
  • To improve the service: understanding which pages are slow, where streams stutter and which features go unused.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions, including renewals, refunds and failed-payment recovery.
  • To personalise recommendations through BMT Core. Only when personalisation is switched on for that profile.
  • To communicate with you: transactional email such as receipts, password resets and service notices. Marketing email only ever goes out with your consent.
  • To meet legal obligations and prevent abuse, including fraud checks, licence-territory enforcement and account security.

Data sharing

We share data with a small set of service providers who help us run BMT. Each one is under contract, can only use the data for the task we give them, and cannot use it for their own purposes.

Hosting and CDN
Serving the site and delivering video close to you.
Payment processors
Taking payment securely and handling card data on our behalf.
Analytics tools
Measuring usage and playback quality in aggregate.
Email delivery
Sending receipts, service notices and, with consent, newsletters.

We do not sell your personal data, and we never will. We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users and staff.

International transfers

BMT is a global service, so your data may be processed in countries outside the UK and European Economic Area, for example where a content delivery network node or a support provider is located.

When that happens we rely on recognised safeguards: an adequacy decision covering the destination country, or standard contractual clauses backed by an assessment of local law. You can ask us for more detail on the safeguards used for a specific transfer.

Data retention

We keep data only as long as it is useful or legally required, then delete or anonymise it.

Account data
Kept while your account is active, then deleted within 30 days of you closing it. Apart from anything we must keep for legal reasons.
Viewing history
Kept while the profile exists, and deleted 24 months after a profile is removed. You can clear it yourself at any time.
Payment and transaction records
Kept for seven years to meet tax and accounting law.
Logs and analytics
Technical logs are kept for up to 90 days; analytics data is aggregated and holds no identifiers after that point.
Support messages
Kept for 24 months so we have context if you come back to us.

Your rights

You have real, enforceable rights over your data, and using them will never affect the service you receive.

Access
Get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction
Fix anything inaccurate or incomplete.
Deletion
Ask us to erase your data where we have no need to keep it.
Restriction and objection
Pause our use of your data, or object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Portability
Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Withdraw consent
Turn off marketing, personalisation or optional cookies at any time, without affecting what came before.

Email privacy@bmt.tv to exercise any of these. We will confirm within five working days and respond fully within one month.

Cookies & tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions like sign-in and payment. With your consent, we also use them for analytics, personalisation and marketing measurement.

You can review every category and change your choices on the privacy & cookie preferences page.

Contact & complaints

If you have a question or a concern about privacy at BMT, email privacy@bmt.tv. A person reads every message and we aim to reply within five working days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to your local data protection authority. In the United Kingdom that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); in the EEA it is the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
